Buffy's Beads was started in 2003 by Andrew Pollard after listening to many complaints from his wife, Rosie...  A jewellery designer / maker herself, Rosie was constantly on the lookout for good quality beads at reasonable prices.  She found that many shops in the U.K. selling gemstone and freshwater pearl beads charged very high prices and most bead web-sites were not U.K. based (hence big delivery & duty charges) and only offered glass or other less exclusive beads.

So Andrew came to the rescue!  After many months of reseach, phone calls, e-mails and visits abroad to suppliers, Buffy's Beads was created and named after Andrew & Rosie's cat, a British Blue called Buffy the Mouse Slayer (not that she's ever managed to!).
